Caleb 18 Months

Well, Caleb is growing fast and recently past a year and a half. He measured in at 22 pounds (5%tile) and 34 inches tall (90%). So, we have ourselves another long and skinny boy. Caleb likes to get our attention by grunting and whining these days. He has a few more words in his vocabulary but likes to just grunt out most others. He now says "Hi there," "Hi there Mommy," "There it is," "Egg Nog" (I know weird), "Hot dog," and his most recent "Hello" (very clearly). My grandma taught him to say egg nog and hello. He loves to play outside and make a mess inside, but he also loves to be held and loved all the time. Dougie is really fun to watch interact with him at times and other times I want to pull my hair out. Here is our sweet little boy at 18 months. I forgot to mention, he loves to wave hello and goodbye to everyone he sees :)
He likes to carry his shadow close behind him.

Christmas Moments

Christmas was really fun this year. We started it with our annual Rogers' Christmas party that Grandpa showed up to this year (and enjoyed himself). Then we had Christmas Eve at my parents house, where Dougie had a 103 degree temperature. Christmas morning was at our house with Doug's parents, and we ended the day at Grandma Silcock's house. Lots of family fun and sweet moments to remember.

Our new friend. Can you guess what Dougie named him? Well "Elf" of course!

Halloween

We had fun for Halloween this year. We started the weekend before at my brother's house for a Halloween Party, then we carved pumpkins at home the day before Halloween, went trunk-or-treating at the church on Halloween, and came home to pass out candy later that night. My boys were supposed to be skeletons, as in the picture below, but we left Caleb's costume at my mom's house Halloween day when I picked the kids up.

This is the only somewhat decent picture of the boys in their skeleton outfits.

Dougie with our home grown pumpkins.

 Caleb at work with Mommy.

Costume change.

Made a longer stop at Nana Nana's trunk to take a picture.

Still no update on the house. It is all in the hands of the bank, which are obviously in no hurry to get their money.

House Update

I made an update about a month ago, but I never posted it bceause I had a weird feeling about it. Well, my feeling was right. About a week after I started to update everyone we got the news that the people we were buying the house from decided to try and take one more step to save their home. Understandable, yet so disappointing.
So, we were back on the market. The good news was that we had gotten an offer on our house a few days after our first open house and a backup offer after our second open house. The people are very willing to wait for us to find something which has been a blessing.
While I was in Yosemite with the kids (Doug had to work), a house that we had been eyeing for awhile but wasn't available became available again. Without me seeing it yet, Doug put an offer in and it was accepted. So, now we are waiting to hear from the bank. Unfortunately, it is another short sale, but the good thing is that the bank has already approved the amount we offered, so hopefully it will go through quicker. Fingers crossed!

Caleb is One Years Old!

My little baby boy is pretty much a toddler now. He turned one on June 16th. We had a swim party at my parents house. Here is how much he has changed throughout the year. Current status is 20th percentile for weight and 95th percentile for height.

Caleb started walking at 11 months and caught on quite fast. He has four words that he says most often, which are dadda, daggie (which is doggy, Dougie, and Maggie but mostly Maggie), eat, and momma. My little guy is a pig and a half. He doesn't just want to eat his food, but he wants to eat anything and everything anyone else has too. Any time he sees food he says loudly, "Eeeat, eeat, eeeat!" There is not much he won't eat which I guess is a good thing, and he can already eat an entire half peanut butter and jelly sandwich like his big brother. Yikes! Costco is going to come in really handy in the future. Caleb is such a sweetheart. He is happy most of the time, especially if he is outside. He also loves to sleep. He sleeps from 7:00pm to 7:00am every night and still takes 2 naps. One thing he enjoys a little too much is hitting and pinching :/ I will miss being home with the boys when school starts.

Here are some shots of him on his birthday.

Happy Birthday Boy!

I actually cooked.

In the little pool.

Taking a little snooze while everyone else swims.

Wasn't sure about all the singing.

My favorite part. Much better than Dougie.

Wouldn't stop.

Cleaning up

I missed the pinata with this camera.
